Human-Focused Media Representation of Science Is More Appealing to High School Girls

Abstract
Media portrays science as about objects but not human. This reinforces the stereotype of scientists being cold and not communal. We found that comparing to object Science magazine covers, human covers increased high school girls’ perceived importance of scientific studies.
