Age of First Arrest Is Positively Correlated with Motivation to Succeed in a Sample of Juvenile Offenders

Abstract
Using a sample of juvenile offenders, we found that individuals’ age of first arrest was positively correlated with their motivations to succeed. However, different patterns emerged when the relationship was examined among ethnic subgroups. Implications of these findings are discussed.
