Abstract
This study examined college students’ ratings of believability of a hypothetical sexual assault narrative. Alcohol use and perpetrator’s social status did not influence ratings of believability. Men rated the narrative as less believable than women, but these gender differences became non-significant when accounting for rape myth acceptance and rape empathy.
