“Authenticity” in Music: An Emerging Generalizable Model

The issue of “authenticity” has been debated throughout the history of modern music. The authors interviewed 28 musicians and others in the music-business to develop a generalizable model of “authenticity” in music. The interviews revealed four themes of “authenticity” with a cumulative effect – possessing all four equals greater “authenticity.”
