Abstract
More severe abuse and neglect each predicted increased internalizing problems in adolescents; only more severe abuse predicted greater externalizing problems. Neighborhood collective efficacy interacted with abuse to predict externalizing problems, such that higher neighborhood collective efficacy reduced the association between more severe abuse and externalizing problems.
