How Does Guilt Decay? the Effect of Rationalizations on Prosocial Behavior

The study examined whether the process of rationalization would affect the decaying process of guilt and subsequent social behavior. The findings showed that there was no significant difference across different rationalization strategies but there was a significant main effect of guilt on the willingness to help others.
