The Influence of Microaggressions on Black Women’s Mental Health

This social justice-oriented, multi-method study examined the relationship between gendered racial microaggressions and mental health outcomes among Black (N = 91). Results indicate that the frequency and stressfulness of microaggressions accounted for a significant proportion of depression and anxiety, suggesting that these experiences may directly influence mental health outcomes.
