Abstract
The increase in mass shootings has more Americans worried about becoming victims, legitimizing a new Mass Shooting Anxiety (MSA) construct. After deriving a Brief MSA scale and conducting receiver operating characteristic analyses on present subscales, we identified cutoff scores classifying historically anxious individuals to determine their dysfunctional levels of MSA.
