Abstract
This study is the first to compare placebo effects produced by verbal suggestions congruent and incongruent with experiences acquired via classical conditioning. The results show that regardless of whether procedures used to induce placebo effects are congruent or incongruent, the order of their application significantly influences the obtained effects.
