Abstract
A multi-method approach examined the relationship between agreeableness and relationship satisfaction in 49 couples. Women’s perceptions of partner agreeableness predicted how satisfied they were in the relationship, but only when partners were low in objectively rated agreeableness. Perceptions of agreeableness are important determinants of relationship satisfaction when discrepant from reality.
