Disaster, War & Economic Strife in Asia: Preventing Kids from Further Trauma

Children can be unintentionally neglected and traumatized after earthquakes, typhoons, war and economic strife. The present study reviews the literature on children’s responses to local disasters and evaluates the effectiveness of a faith-based post-disaster trauma intervention program developed in Japan and applied throughout Asia, targeting children and youth.
