Abstract
We investigated whether social contact moderated the association between early-life stress (ELS) and depressive symptoms, or the association between ELS and inflammation, in a nationally representative sample of older adults. The ELS-depressive symptoms association was fully attenuated among older adults who reported a higher frequency of social contact.
