Physical Injury As a Moderator of the Relationship between Cumulative Trauma and PTSD

The impact of physical injury during trauma and resulting trauma symptoms is unclear. Moderation analyses revealed that physical injury during traumatic events mediated the relationship between cumulative trauma and PTSD. This may be attributed to the increased likelihood of social support and clinical attention that trauma and injury-exposed survivors receive.
