Abstract

Results indicate that frequency of abuse (a single type of trauma repeated over time) predicted PTSD symptoms and cumulative trauma (total number of different traumas) mediated this relationship. This suggests that the relationship between frequency of abuse and PTSD symptoms can be explained through cumulative trauma. Implications will be discussed.
