Abstract
A combined objectification and sociocultural body satisfaction model accounted for more variance in dieting intentions than either model alone. This was not the case for restrained eating. This suggests that while both sociocultural influences and self-objectification contribute to intentions to diet, self-objectification may play a larger role in eating behaviors.
