Intraracial Competition: Does the Race of the Other Woman Influence Reactions to Infidelity

We investigated differences in heterosexual East Asian women’s reactions to monoracial and interracial infidelity. Analyses revealed evidence of intraracial competition such that women perceive sexual and emotional infidelity with same-race rivals as more threatening and less forgivable than sexual and emotional infidelity with women from other races.
