Abstract
Research on personality suggests specific traits either linearly increase or decrease from adolescence into adulthood. Big Five personality development differs among males and females, which may explain discrepancies between conflicting theories of personality change. Results presented here support this hypothesis, suggesting sex influences personality development among adolescents and young adults.
