Incidental Social Exclusion: A New Experimental Paradigm

Abstract
This study explored how people reacted when they were left out of a group experience, but the exclusion did not seem intentional. In the exclusion condition, participants demonstrated a significantly reduced sense of belonging, control, and meaning in life, compared to the control condition.
