Abstract
In this study, participants viewed arrest videos with no officer profanity or with profanity, then rated how favorably they viewed the officer. The Big 5, authoritarianism, and attitudes toward police were assessed. Favorability ratings were lower in participants in the profane condition and associated with attitudes towards law enforcement.
