Whodunnit and Who Didn’t: Gender Differences in Appearance-Based Inferences of Criminality

Abstract
The current study focuses on the role of gender x crime type interaction in participants’ accuracy of appearance-based inferences of criminality. Results showed a lower ability for females to distinguish between rapists and other criminals and suggest that perceived trustworthiness of the rapists might be the culprit.
