Abstract
Participants rated the extent to which they endorsed seven metaphors of teaching. Those with higher scores on internalized responsibility and engagement endorsed growth metaphors and valued professors more highly. Entitled expectations were linked to support for a consumer metaphor and significantly lower ratings of the professor’s value.
