Abstract
Contrast avoidance, or the aversion to sudden emotional shifts, may play an important role in marijuana use problems. In a sample of regular marijuana users with co-occurring pain, we found contrast avoidance was uniquely associated with pain interference and marijuana problems even when controlling for general distress and pain catastrophizing.
