Abstract
Women are at greater risk of mood disorders compared to men. This may be related to naturally cycling levels of ovarian hormones, which might influence intrinsic brain connectivity and therefore mood. Through resting state analyses across the menstrual cycle, we observed hormone-modulated connectivity between salience and default mode networks.
