Joint Factor Analyses of Hexaco and Five-Factor Measures Reveal Six Factors Are Better Than Five

Joint scale-level factor analyses of the HEXACO-60 and NEO-FFI revealed that a five-factor solution reproduced FFM structure, but six-factors has Honesty-Humility emerging as a separate factor only moderately related to NEO Agreeableness. Thus, the HEXACO model may be a more complete representation of personality trait structure than the FFM.
