Teaching Test-Taking Strategies to Students in Large Classes

Abstract
Students in a 300-person Lifespan Development course learned exam-taking strategies through written instruction or a face-to-face tutorial. Students’ metacognitive and testing strategies awareness and exam scores were examined prior to and after the intervention. This easily distributable intervention will help instructors with large classes have meaningful impact on exam performance.
