Short-Term Longitudinal Relation of Different Forms of Antipathy Relationships to Children’s Subsequent Loneliness and Popularity

Different forms of antipathetic (disliking) dyadic relationships in relation to loneliness and popularity were examined over one-year (Grades 3 to 4 and 4 to 5). Mutual (reciprocated) antipathies and unilateral received antipathies negatively related to popularity and positively related to loneliness at time 2; unilateral given antipathies did not.
