Acute Stress Increases Negative Affect

The impact of acute stress on emotions is less studied. We examined the impact of acute stress exposure on affective states. Acute was successfully induced using the cold pressor test (CPT). Following acute stress exposure participants reported increased negative affect. However, positive affect was not influenced by acute stress.
