That’s Everyone’s! Children and Adult’s Intuitions about the Proprietary Nature of Unique Versus Publicly Available Stories.

Abstract
Do children know which stories are proprietary and which are not? We show that preschoolers believe stories from TV repeated by a child belong to everyone, whereas a unique story belongs to that child. Results parallel those with objects, indicating that the ownership concept is early appearing and domain-neutral.
