All Social Media Is Not Created Equal: Instagram Use Positively Predicts Social Loneliness but Finsta Use Negatively Predicts Social Loneliness Among Emerging Adults

Finsta is a type of Instagram account in which users can share intimate and unfiltered content with an audience of their close friends. In a sample of N =231 emerging adults, we found that whereas Instagram use positively predicts social loneliness, Finsta use negatively predicts social loneliness.
