Abstract

To investigate if symbolic (Arabic digits) and nonsymbolic (sets of dots) formats of number rely on neural resources that share mechanisms, are task-dependent, and relate to numerical ability, we conducted MVPA analyses of 7-Tesla MRI data of 39 adults completing two numerical tasks and related these patterns to math behaviors.
