Abstract
We evaluated whether treating cerumen impaction in adults with dementia (living in nursing homes or enrolled in adult-day-services programs) affects their responses to personalized music listening. Although treating cerumen had little effect, music positively influenced sundowning symptoms both immediately and long-term, with some symptoms (confusion, repetitiveness) improving more than others.
