Individual Interest As a Moderator on the Effects of a Utility Value Intervention on Situational Interest and Recall Performance

To study the impact of a utility value (UV) intervention along with examining individual interest as a moderator, UV was manipulated among high school students through a UV writing task. The intervention partly increased situational interest and recall performance on a reading task. These effects were moderated by individual interest.
