Community Violence Exposure and the Expression of Prosocial and Aggressive Behavior in Adolescence

Despite the large literature on the development of prosocial and aggressive behavior, we know little about how these behaviors might manifest jointly in the context of persistent community violence. The present study explores the possibility that community violence exposure amplifies both forms of behavior during adolescence, potentially as coping strategies.
