Stigmatizing Attitudes Towards Victims of Traumatic Events and Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder

Limited research exists on people’s attitudes towards PTSD as well as the likelihood to provide social support to trauma victims. Results showed that stigmatizing attitudes and likelihood to offer support depended not only on PTSD symptoms but on gender of the victim and type of trauma experienced by the victim.
