Abstract
The obesity epidemic is positively correlated with sugar consumption. The present study examines implicit and explicit preferences for sugar-sweetened beverages. Notably, BMI does not predict selection of a sugar-sweetened beverage. Rather, our findings demonstrate the importance of considering personal attitudes and social factors to understand sugar consumption.
