Abstract

In two studies, participants read about and rated a hospital employee. Experimental participants learned they had read false information and could revise their ratings. Contrary to the hypothesis, revised evaluations exceeded control participants’ ratings. There was no main effect for employee race/ethnicity, however conservative attitudes predicted lower revised scores.
