Hypothetical Vs. Real: Responses to Infidelity

45 participants recalled a detailed memory about a partner’s infidelity and then were randomly assigned one hypothetical infidelity scenario (emotional, sexual, both). Responses between the real and hypothetical situations were contrasted and correlated. Participants responded differently to the same questions, and only three of the six ratings were significantly correlated.
