Abstract
Our study revealed a socioeconomic status (SES) related brain alteration on preschool children assessed by functional near infrared spectroscopy. We found children from families with lower SES showed reduced brain activation in the lateral PFC when compared with children from families with higher SES during a validated working memory task.
