Abstract
Among college students (n=308), intellectual reasons for belief or nonbelief in god(s) was associated with less death anxiety. Additionally, greater importance placed on social and personal experience reasons for religious belief/nonbelief was associated with less death anxiety for believers and more death anxiety for nonbelievers.
