Adult Age Differences in Emotional Response to Framed Health Information in Narrative Reading Comprehension

Abstract
We investigated age differences in emotional response to framed health messages in a narrative consistency paradigm. Results indicated that both young and older readers spontaneously activate emotion when reading framed messages, but that older adults have more difficulty processing health messages when the situation evokes a negative emotional tone.
Emotion
