Perception of Synthesized Speech versus Human Speech

Listeners often make attributions about speakers to judge the perceived honesty of a statement. But do listeners make such inferences for synthesized speech? Here, we examined whether speaker source (human versus synthesizer and male versus female) influenced the perceived honesty of a statement.
