Abstract
Our study evaluated whether racial and gender identity predict secondary traumatic stress (STS) in peer advocates. Results showed that racial identity predicted STS in peer advocates, with White participants reporting more STS than other groups. Gender identity predicted intrusion symptoms of STS, with women reporting more intrusion symptoms than others.
