Self-Esteem Predicts Boredom Proneness in Young Adults

Trait boredom proneness is associated with a range of negative outcomes but the fundamental causes remain unclear. Our structural model demonstrated that self-esteem and, less consistently, self-control, function as longitudinal causes of boredom proneness across five semesters of archived data.
