Abstract
Affinity refers to the combined effect of different attributes on the grouping strength for pairs of surfaces. However, it is not determined whether affinity directly affects the strength of single-element apparent motions, or whether it indirectly affects motion perception by biasing the perception of motion direction in the motion-correspondence problem.
