Abstract
Pubertal timing is related to adolescent alcohol use, but it is unclear whether (and how) effects persist into adulthood. We focused on the potential mediating effects of alcohol expectancies. Only for women did positive and social expectancies about alcohol mediate the relation between late pubertal timing and heightened adult use.
