Abstract

Using a lab study of man-woman dyads, we examined whether ideal partner preference matching predicted greater romantic liking when individuals viewed a potential partner's dating profile, interacted with them online, and interacted with them face-to-face. Ideal preference matching predicted greater liking when individuals evaluated a profile but not when interacting.
