Abstract

Results from a modified Stroop task showed that gratitude significantly predicted participants’ reaction times to positive, negative, neutral, and threatening words, while neither positive affect or negative affect predicted reaction time. Interestingly, participating in the modified Stroop task decreased participants’ positive affect and state gratitude.
