Abstract

This performance improvement project explores the effectiveness of a widely used brief standardized screen for depression in primary care in predicting affective disorders in a sample of veterans. Results suggest the Patient Health Questionnaire-2 (PHQ-2) does not adequately identify the broad range of affective disorders present in this veteran population.
