Abstract

We tested the relationship between contact and brain activity during an interracial mentalizing task. Among lower contact White perceivers, left STS was more active when mentalizing about White relative to Black targets. High contact White perceivers, however, recruited left STS equally when mentalizing about both White and Black targets.
