Abstract
Using a reversal learning measure of cognitive flexibility, we show that aggregate representation of choice outcomes is associated with pre-reversal performance but not post-reversal performance. These findings challenge some models of reversal learning that stress the role of violation of expectancies in accounting for post-reversal performance.
